Our New Normal

Seven months, gone in a flash! As though in a deep sleep, we have now reawakened and opened our eyes to a brand-new world, the world of “New Normal”.

What exactly is the “new normal”, and is it here to stay? There are so many uncertainties these days, including an ever-looming potential second lockdown. We cannot say that we know what the future may hold, but here at Happy Hearts, we can guarantee that the health, safety and wellbeing of the children will always and forever be our number one priority, regardless of how many adjustments are made to the “new normal”.

We have ensured that Happy Hearts maintains its upmost standards in cleanliness and hygiene. We have placed Covid-secure measures, as advised by PHE, to reduce any risk of infection or transmission. Upon arrival to the nursery, all children and staff (and anyone else who may have to enter the building) have their temperatures taken, followed by 20 seconds of handwashing, and finally changing into their indoor shoes. Parents are, unfortunately, no longer allowed into the nursery, except in special circumstances. We have removed all toys and objects which are not wipeable (such as soft toys), the nursery is well ventilated and we routinely carry out a full disinfection of the nursery every evening with specialised equipment.

Happy Hearts has come up with an ingenious way to accommodate safe visits for prospecting parents. We are very lucky, as our classroom is surrounded by glass panels accessible via an outlying corridor. Visitors are therefore able to view the nursery in action from a safe distance, with shielding in place, keeping the children, the staff and the visitors completely safe.

We, at Happy Hearts, wanted to remind you that we are here to take care of your little ones, in a safe, caring and educational environment for when you go back to work and attend to your daily responsibilities. In the event of another lockdown, we wanted you to rest assured that we will be happy to waive the nursery fee for the duration of the lockdown period. We feel that this is fair and appropriate in such circumstances, so parents do not feel pressured into making commitments that they may not be able to hold on to. Flexibility is the way forward in such everchanging times! Happy Hearts is always growing and developing, alongside with the children, adjusting with the times and adapting to the environment to ensure and maintain the quality of teaching, care and comfort, for both the children and the parents.
