A Day in the Life at Happy Hearts Nursery!

We hope you are all well and keeping safe in these still somewhat strange times. Even though it’s now the summer holidays, it may not really feel like it given that recent circumstances have meant the days and weeks of the last few months seem to have all rolled into one.

However, it is positive to hear that things are looking up. Now that lockdown restrictions across the UK are beginning to ease and everyone is adjusting to a new ‘normal’ way of life, we wanted to reassure you that Happy Hearts Nursery is still here for you and open for business.

While the nursery is now closed for the summer term, we do have places available and we are accepting new children to join Happy Hearts in the autumn term.

We appreciate that as parents of children of different ages, your attention over the last few months may have turned to home schooling and juggling working life – leaving you without any time to research nursery places for your child.

We understand that sending your child to nursery for the first time can seem quite daunting. The feelings of anxiousness are not likely to be helped by the current global pandemic, which is likely to mean that you’ve been spending more time with your little one in recent months.

As September is not that far away, now is the best time to start thinking about which nursery school you might like to send your child to. To help you with that decision, we thought we’d give you an insight into a day in the life at Happy Hearts Nursery so that you know what your child can expect if they join us.

At Happy Hearts Nursery, no two days are the same; alongside literacy and numeracy, morning sessions usually include daily circle time, science, art, craft and cooking. We also have weekly music, dance, tennis and French classes, as well as monthly Forest School sessions, all of which are taught by specialist teachers.

In the afternoons the children enjoy sports such as football with Little Kickers, yoga and Fitness Friday. These are normally combined with activities such as drama, science, gardening, Art Attack! and modelling club, together with trips to Holland Park and the local library.

It’s well known that learning a second language early in life enhances overall cognitive skills and improves brain development – and we’re pleased to announce that from September, Club Petit Pierrot will be conducting French classes for the children at Happy Hearts Nursery!

As well as regular curricular activities we also hold annual events including sports day, a Christmas concert, an Easter bonnet parade, a Hallowe’en party and a summer concert at the end of each year when we say goodbye to graduating classes.

We maintain the highest standards throughout a child’s learning journey by following the Early Years Foundation Stage complemented with aspects of the Montessori Method. In practice, this means encouraging self-directed activities, guided creative choices and collaborative play, to help develop independent learning that allows us to offer children a broad and well-rounded education. If you’re looking for a nursery place for your child in the Kensington and Chelsea area of London, we’d love to hear from you!

Please get in touch either by completing an enquiry form on our website or by emailing info@happyhearts.uk.
